amWater suspends Supply Chain Manager

WINDHOEK: NamWater has suspended its Manager for Supply Chain Management Mathew Nelenge at its head office in Windhoek with immediate effect after an alleged tender irregularities were discovered.

NamWater’s Head of Strategic Communications Hieronymus Goraseb said in a statement issued to the media on Thursday, the suspension was to enable an unhindered investigation into the alleged tender irregularities.

He said the suspension was with full remuneration until further notice.

Goraseb however told Nampa upon inquiry that further details as to the type of tenders discovered, whether it was issued to the wrong person or inappropriately issued and when the discovery was made could not be given out as investigations are currently being carried out.

“The media will be updated on developments once the investigation has been completed,” he said.

Nelenge was based at the head office in Windhoek.
