Are You Brave Enough for the Red Bull Brave Man Enduro?

Namibia has a g enduro scene but this is to be expected with our incredibly diverse and equally challenging landscapes that test riders’ abilities to the max. No wonder we produce g enduro riders such as three time Dakar rally finisher Ingo Waldschmidt among many other talented riders.

With the enduro season already under way, it was only a matter of time before the best in the business of extreme everything, Red Bull came to the party. It’s common knowledge that when the energy drink company gets behind a sport or throws an event, they do way more than push the envelope, they soak it in gasoline and throw it at you.

All this has resulted in the most exciting enduro event to hit Namibia in awhile. The Red Bull Brave Man takes place on 26 April 2014 on a secret track and promises to be like nothing we have seen since the MX World Champs that took place here about a decade ago.

The Red Bull Brave Man Enduro will take place over two evenings. First, on Friday 25 April 2014, the riders will battle it out on an obstacle course at the Doc Jubber Hockey fields and their times will dictate their starting positions for the main race on Saturday. There will be a technical inspection of the riders’ bikes on Friday, 25 April as of 11h00.

The secret track on which the main enduro is to take place will be revealed on 15 April 2014. No riders will be permitted on the track until the day of the main event. Any riders contravening this rule will be disqualified.

The event is open to all riders in possession of a valid Namibia Motor Sport Federation competition licence.

Day licences will be available at the event and the competition is open to enduro and motocross bikes only. If you would like to register, you need to contact the Namibia Enduro Club or Nadja Heger at for an entry form. Entries will set you back N$1 000, but this will put you in the running for the N$30 000 grand prize for the winner. All competitors will be awarded a medal for participation. Rider registration closes on 11 April 2014.

So, are you brave enough?
