Armed Robbery Suspects Still At Large

The police are looking for suspects involved in the alleged attack in which six Chinese workers where held and robbed at gunpoint at Brakwater.

The incident took place last week on Monday.

The robbers were reportedly armed with pistols, while the other two were armed with knives.

The Chinese were robbed of five cell phones, two pairs of shoes, four wallets, personal documents and N$ 6800 and US$350 in cash.

The head of the Police Public Relations Department, Deputy Commissioner, Edwin Kanguatjivi informed New Era on Monday that no one has been arrested yet.

In Outapi in the Omusati Region, items valued at N$ 7 419 were stolen by two unknown suspects who broke into a house on Wednesday at an unknown time.

The suspects allegedly broke the door open with an unknown object and stole one Tedelex D player and its speakers, a Samsung cell phone and N$ 1 500 in cash.

No arrests have been made and nvestigations continue.

Also on Wednesday, a television valued at N$9 000 was stolen in the Epako residential area in Gobabis.

The incident happened at around 00h20.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped while on her way home in Keetmanshoop in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A man grabbed her and pulled her into nearby bushes between 01h00 and 02h00 behind the J Stephanus Stadium in Tseiblaagte. The police are yet to arrest the woman’s attacker while investigations continue.
