Bank Windhoek Fistball League Continues

The Bank Windhoek Fistball Championship will continue this Saturday, 5 April, at the SKW Fistball Fields in Windhoek. The National A League log leaders, SKW 1 will meet third-placed, SKW 2, in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

SKW 2 won the last encounters between the two teams, three weeks ago in Swakopmund and another win would put them top, but only if they also win their second game against Cohen FC 1, who are currently in second place. Cohen FC 1 has shown good early season form and are one of the championship hopefuls.

At the bottom of the log, SFC 1 will meet Cohen FC 2, with the former being the favourite as they got the better of Cohen FC 2 the last time the two teams met and will again be at full strength on Saturday.

Cohen FC3 will look to extend their lead at the top of the Bank Windhoek National B league. They are six points clear of second-placed SFC 2 and DTS after only four games of the season. On Saturday, they will play against SKW 3 and DTS, games they are sure to win if they produce the same performance they showed in Swakopmund during the first round of games.

SFC 2 will not have their full team available for their three matches, but they will nevertheless attempt to take home as many points as possible in order to stay second on the log. Meanwhile, Cohen FC 4 will be looking for their first win of the season when they play SKW 3. A win for Cohen FC 4 would mean that they swap the last place on the log with their opponents.

This will be the last time the players of the U18 national team will be in action before departing for Brazil. The team, led by coach Andreas Minz, will participate at the U18 Fistball World Championships where they will play teams from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile and hosts, Brazil.

Saturday’s matches start at 8h00.
