Beneficiaries receive Build-Together houses at Opuwo

OPUWO: The Build-Together committee at Opuwo handed over 26 houses to beneficiaries last Thursday.

The 26 houses were constructed at a cost of about N.dollars 1 million.

These were the last houses to be constructed under the Build-Together programme before it is incorporated into Government’s Mass Housing programme this year.

The Opuwo Build-Together programme started in the 2006/2007 financial year, when it constructed the first 12 houses.

The second batch was built in the following year, and consisted of 50 houses, followed by another batch of 59 houses.

In the four consecutive years thereafter which the current Build-Together committee was functional, a total of 131 houses were constructed and handed-over to beneficiaries.

The 200 people who are on the Build-Together waiting list in Opuwo will now go on a waiting list for the Mass Housing programme.
