Bester Fumes Over His Axing

Brave Warriors international Rudolf ‘Magic Feet’ Bester has expressed shock at his South African Professional Soccer League (PSL) club Orlando Pirates, after he only learned in the local media that he was offloaded.

Bester joined the club two seasons ago and had a turbulent stint with the Soweto giants where he struggled to nail down a starting berth, despite showing flashes of his former self when he joined the club from Maritzburg United.

He was finally shipped to Lamontville Golden Arrows in the PSL but niggling injuries restricted the former Eleven Arrows target man from saving the Durban outfit from relegation as they finished rock bottom in the 16-team league.

Bester is among a few players who have been deemed surplus to requirements at the Ghosts, which included former Kaizer Chiefs lethal goal poacher Collins Mbesuma. He was furious that Pirates did not inform him personally nor his business manager but chose to announce his departure through the media.
