Black Africa Move Five Points Clear

Black Africa opened up a gap of five points at the top of the Namibia Premier League log following their 3-0 victory against Tigers on Friday.

Second half goals by Muna Katupose, Gebhardt Ananias and Erastus Mundjanima gave BA an emphatic victory that puts them on 39 points after 18 matches, while Tigers remain second on 34 points.

Orlando Pirates joined Tigers on 34 points after a late winner by Nicky Musambani against United Stars in Rundu on Saturday.

Pirates had numerous scoring chances but Rundu’s defence and their goal keeper was in fine form. The match seemed to be heading for a draw when Musambabni struck after a fine dribble on 88m to score Pirates’ winning goal.

African Stars moved up to 33 points after a 1-0 victory against Eleven Arrows in Walvis Bay. Stars’ striker Heinrich Kazerua scored the winner on 30m from the penalty spot after a handball in the box.

Arrows’ defeat keeps them rooted to the bottom of the log on 10 points from 17 matches.

In Windhoek, Ramblers beat Blue Boys 2-0 after two second half goals by substitute Ivan Bloom. Ramblers remain eighth on the log on 23 points, while Blue Boys are third from bottom of 15 points.

Blue Waters picked up a 2-0 away win against Rundu Chiefs after Hendrik Somaeb scored a brace.

Blue Waters are now sixth on the log on 25 points while Rundu Chiefs are second last on 12 points.
