Black Africa Thump Tigers

Black Africa took a giant step towards retaining the Premier League title with an emphatic 3-0 victory against Tigers on Friday night.

Second half goals by Muna Katupose, Ananias Gebhardt and Erastus Mundjanima gave them the win that sees them moving four points clear of Tigers at the top of the log.

After a cagey start, Black Africa were the first to threaten when winger Willy Stephanus had shot tipped for a corner.

Tigers had their own chances with Treasure Kauapirura shooting wide after a counterattack, while Absalom Imbondi hit the crossbar with a great shot from the edge of the box.

Stephanus was a growing threat for BA down the right wing and they once again came close just before halftime when Muna Katupose shot narrowly wide from one of his crosses.

BA’s opener came from a fine combination between the two on 59m when Stephanus sent in a cross and a diving header by Katupose hit the back of the net.

Protash Kabwe and Treasure Kauapirura came close to scoring for Tigers, but it was BA who finished ger as they sealed the game with two goals in the final five minutes.

The impressive Stephanus was once again the provider for their second goal on 85m, sending in a cross that Katupose dummied and Ananias Gebhardt volleyed in at the far post.

Substitute midfielder Erastus Mundjanima made it 3-0 on 91m when he slammed home a clearance by Tigers’ keeper Fox Nambundunga had deflected into his path.
