Black Businesses Successful Because of Swapo – Geingob

SWAPO presidential candidate Hage Geingob on Saturday urged all peace-loving Namibians to vote for him so that he can continue the struggle for economic development.

“On 28 November you must not disappoint us. We know you never disappoint, so come out in numbers and vote. If we fail and come back again, do not listen to us,” he said during a well-attended second star rally in Walvis Bay.

The first rally took place last Saturday in Rundu, and the next one is scheduled for the Ohangwena Region.

Geingob’s speech focused on economic emancipation, peace and democracy as well as youth empowerment and poverty reduction.

He highlighted the infrastructural development delivered by Swapo since Independence.

“Today a lot of black people are running successful businesses. This is because Swapo liberated the country and opened doors for everyone, so please give us a chance to continue addressing development issues,” said Geingob, who is also the country’s Prime Minister.

He then invited those following opposition parties to join Swapo.

The exact date for the 2014 Presidential and National Assembly elections is yet to be announced by President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
