Black Vulcanite, Famaz Attak in Acoustic Friday Jam

Black Vulcanite in a rare cross genre union with local rock band Famaz Attak features tonight in the Acoustic Friday series at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC).

Black vulcanite is a Namibian Hip Hopoetry group that consist of the threesome Mark Mushiva (Mark Question), Allain Villet (aliTHATdude) and Nikolai Tjongarero (Okin), also known as Black Vulcanite who use the art of unadulterated Hip Hop and poetry to speak about life in Namibia. The group is currently signed with Rude World Records, a South African-based recording label.The release of their much acclaimed EP Remember the Future early 2013 saw Black Vulcanite go international almost overnight. Together with Swiss producer, Maloon TheBoom, the group forged a partnership that landed them a record deal with Cape Town -based record label, Rude World Records. Since then, Black Vulcanite have shared the stage with many a South African Hip Hop greats and have collaborated with both local and international acts.

The subject matter of their music assumes a staunch military and subversive rhetoric, neatly wrapped in melodic beats and avant-garde lyrics. Black Vulcanite have set African Hip Hop’s new standard of consciousness having garnered a considerable following in the mother city ,Windhoek. The group plans to invade foreign markets to gather a larger following before unveiling a studio album under Rude World records, narrating their individual journeys into adulthood and the events that brought them together.
