Caterer Donates Boiler to Onandjokwe Hospital

CLOUDS Trading Enterprises cc, the company that provides catering services at Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital, donated one 250-litre Vulcan Jacket boiler and an 80-litre tilting pan last week Friday to the hospital.

This came after the Minister of Health and Social Services, Bernard Haufiku, visited the hospital on 8 May and was shocked to see that a small pot was being used to cook food for hundreds of patients.

Haufiku directed Oshikoto health and social services director Peter Angala to ensure enough pots were bought.

Handing over the equipment, the managing director of Clouds Trading Enterprises cc, Claudia Mbura-Kandetu said she, her management and staff are very happy to hand over the equipment and trust that this would ensure that the patients receive properly prepared food.

She also said minister Haufiku would appreciate their gesture as he had expressed shock at the sorry state of affairs at the hospital during his recent visit.

She said her company is 100% Namibian-owned, and was established in 2009 and registered with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2011.

Clouds Trading was given the contract to supply and deliver raw food to Onandjokwe hospital in 2013.

Mbura-Kandetu said her company had also donated 13 washing basins to each ward, cutlery, bins, three fridges and also held a Christmas bash for patients.

The nursing manager of the Onandjokwe hospital, John Lumbu, expressed gratitude to Cloud Trading for its gesture, but said they still need at least three more pots and an additional tilting pan, because they have many patients at the hospital.
