Charmaine Gertze has been crowned Miss Jesus Centre during a glittery event held on Friday night at The Greater Love Ministries (Jesus Centre) in Katutura, Okuryangava on

Gift Mbewe has been crowned as Vice Miss Jesus Centre and Sharon Gaweses as Prime Miss Jesus Centre. Charmaine says winning Miss Jesus Centre is a very big honour and platform for her to teach other youths the gospel. “Carrying that crown means carrying a huge responsibility. To highlight the training before the event, we were taught how to carry ourselves as women of virtue and to keep ourselves pure. The one topic that touched me was Identity, knowing yourself in Christ and knowing your purpose is the only thing you need. Proverbs 31v 3o says ‘grace is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a women that fears the Lord shall be praised’.

That is one of my favourite Biblical quotes,” says Charmaine. She adds that her plans with the Miss Jesus Centre crown is to use what she has learned during the three-month training and delivered it to the community. “With that, I want to help people to find themselves in Christ and finding their true identities. My pastor once said ‘a leader is nothing without hisher teams’ meaning that all the girls taking part in this movement we plan to make a change in our community.”

The main aim of the Miss Jesus Centre was to allow and give the young people an opportunity to show off their God-given talents or gifts through modeling. Miss Jesus Centre pageantry is a character pageantry rooted in the principles of the Bible and pays more attention to the various personalities of the young ladies, teaching them how to rejoice and have confidence in their personalities that their bodies, as well as teaching them to find their true identity and being independent as young courageous, selfless and virtuous women of God in the community. The event was well attendant by young people and well organised.
