Chichi Loses the Good Fight

After fighting a long and courageous battle against breast cancer, former songstress, radio personality and recently personal assistant to the Minister of Home Affairs, Nancy ‘Chichi’ Muinjo passed on at 09h30 this morning.

She had just celebrated her 29th birthday on Saturday.

“She fought a very good fight. She was a very pleasant, gifted and innovative public speaker, we are saddened by this,” says her uncle Fluksman Samuehl when called for comment.

Funeral and memorial arrangements will be finalised in the next few days.

Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana, whom Chichi worked for, was evidently shaken by the loss.

“I’m not saying that I’m shocked but I have committed myself to supporting her through the difficult times and although cancer is terminal, I had not prepared myself for this. I am saddened,” she said.

Apart from the working relationship the two had developed, Chichi had endeared herself to Ithana who regarded her as a daughter.

“I’ve lost a child whom I’ve taken in as a daughter. Nancy was such a delightful person, full of energy. The way she carried the illness with courage is such an inspiration that even at my age I could learn from her,” she added.
