Chief of Defence urges newly promoted senior officials of MoD to take their new ranks seriously

WINDHOEK: The Chief of Defence (CDF), Lieutenant-General John Mutwa, has urged newly promoted senior officials of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to take their new ranks seriously.

He said promotion is not a source of income, but something that comes with great responsibilities.

Mutwa made the remarks during a promotion ceremony of several senior officials in the ministry’s’ departments held in the capital yesterday.

About 12 senior officers from different departments were promoted from Colonels to Brigadier-General and from Lieutenant-Colonels to Colonels.

Close to 4 000 others were also promoted with effect from the 01 January 2015.

The departments that saw promotions were human resources, gender division, department of logistics; department of research and development and the military
