Chinese President praises relationship between Namibia and China

BEIJING: Chinese President, Xi Jinping has praised the relationship between Namibia and China, noting that the many years of mutual cooperation enjoyed by the two countries lead to positive developments for both countries.

Referring to Namibia as China’s all-weather friend, Xi said his government was ready to engage Namibia on various areas of bilateral cooperation, which could have positive economic spin-offs for both countries.

The Chinese Head of State was speaking during a courtesy on him by Namibian Prime Minister, Dr Hage Geingob today.

Geingob, who led a large delegation of Namibian Cabinet ministers and businesspeople to the Chinese State House, said Africa was changing and geared more towards economic development.

He used the opportunity to offer condolences to the people of China on the fate of some of the country’s citizens aboard the missing Malaysian Airplane, MH370.

The Premier described the event as unfortunate, stressing that he remains hopeful that the mystery behind the missing flight would be solved soon.
