City Police arrest two after Prosperita burglary

WINDHOEK: The City Police arrested two suspects who allegedly stole 10 flat- screen television sets and a stove from a Windhoek business on Tuesday.

The police managed to recover all but two of the television sets, which were stolen on Monday evening. The items were valued at N.dollars 42 500.

The suspects broke into a shipping container at the business located in Prosperita on the southern side of the city.

They allegedly gained entry into the container by breaking its doors.

City Police chief Abraham Kanime told Nampa on Tuesday night that they used their informants on the ground, which led to the successful arrest of the two suspects.

“We, as residents of Windhoek, often create opportunities by leaving expensive equipment without security. Inform the City Police so that they can patrol the area,” he stated.

Kanime further noted that residential burglaries remain an issue, and once again requested members of the public to inform the law-enforcers of any suspicious movements.
