Construction work on Opuwo Multi-purpose Youth Centre starts

OPUWO: Construction work on the Opuwo Multi-purpose Youth Centre has started, with foundations being dug for the administration block.

The head of the centre, Sau Kakongo told Nampa today the administration block is being constructed at a cost of N.dollars 26,9 million.

Kakongo said it is being prioritised to ensure office space for officials of the Ministry of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture (MYNSSC) in the region.

It will have 14 offices, a boardroom that can accommodate 25 people, eight store rooms, a photocopy room, and reception.

Currently, most regional officials of the ministry are scattered all over the region due to lack of office space – the ministry’s sports officers are renting offices in Opuwo, while the cultural officers are based in Khorixas.

According to Kakongo, the second phase of construction will involve the establishment of a youth hostel.
