Countdown to the Struggle for the Iron Throne Has Begun!

awaited Season 4 of Game of Thrones is almost here! The Emmyreg Award-winning drama series returns to DStv’s M-Net, channel 101, on Friday, 18 April at 21:30 CAT, shortly after its US premiere on Sunday, April 6. As a special treat to fans of the series, as well as those DStv viewers who have not watched the series from the start, M-Net screened an exclusive one-hour specials on the channel on last Friday with the other to follow today in the time-slot allocated to the series.

The exclusive Game of Thrones specials also takes viewers on a journey through the major events in the series to date, explains how all the families and characters have developed, and shows in detail how the different locations in different countries have challenged the actors and producers. The first special focuses on Game of Thrones season 1 and 2, while the second is about season 3 and 4, also containing some teasers to get fans all excited about the new season.

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. The series is also executive produced by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernie Caulfield. Martin is among the co-executive producers. A large part of season 4 storyline will be on the second half of Martin’s A Storm of Swords, the third in his A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Game of Thrones’ returning cast is led by Peter Dinklage (Emmyreg for this role), Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Charles Dance, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and others.
