WINDHOEK: Namibia Football Association (NFA) president, FransMbidi, said the country needs educated footballers who can have something to turn to at the end of their playing days.

Mbidi made this remarks in a media statement availed to Nampa yesterday.

He congratulated the players who were part of the Namibia’s female and male teams at the African Union Sports Commission (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in December and still managed to pass their final exams.

He said that these players were juggling their education and football.

Some were even writing examinations during the training camps and it was not easy and that one cannot make the players to choose because education comes first.

Mbidi also thanked the parents and all other stakeholders for their contribution to the well-being of the players.
