Dilana a No-Show At the Warehouse

THE South African born runner-up of the American reality contest ‘Rock Star Supernova’, Dilana, was a no-show at her scheduled show at the Warehouse Theatre over the weekend.

The musician, was expected to perform with a full live band at the popular Windhoek nightspot on Friday, with Namibian act Rat opening for her.

A representative from the Warehouse Theatre profusely apologised to those looking forward to the show and to those who had bought tickets. “Due to circumstances beyond our control or that of the artist [Dilana], the show was cancelled. We are very sad that it couldn’t go on as planned and we have definitely refunded most of the people who had bought tickets,” said Tanya Ott.

The Warehouse Theatre sent the cancellation notice through to the media a day before the scheduled show, by which time The Namibian had already gone to print. Ott further aised those who have not yet received a refund to contact the Warehouse to swap their tickets for Dilana’s show for tickets to another show.

Dilana’s powerful vocals and commanding stage presence gained her thousands of fans in America and her native South Africa. She has shared the stage with rock legends Tommy Lee and Mick Mars (Moumltley Crue), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Panic Channel) and Gilby Clark (Guns N’ Roses). She has also opened for Aerosmith, Beth Hart and the Doobie Brothers, and launched two solo tours spanning North America and Western Europe that consistently earned stellar reviews.

“We will bring Dilana to Namibia at a later stage,” said Ott.
