Dillish Goes Cover Girl

GRACING two magazine covers recently, Dillish Mathews is silencing any critics who may have thought her star was fading.

In fact, the ‘Big Brother Africa’ winner is making headway as an entrepreneur and trendsetter amongst her legions of followers on social media.

Speaking to The Namibian, Dillish beamed with pride while talking about her Glam Africa and Essays magazine cover features.

“I seriously don’t know how I do it. I just got the exposure from ‘Big Brother’ and maybe the way I carried myself in the house and outside. Being humble and being the same Dillish people grew to love may be the reason. I’m just glad people haven’t forgotten about me yet,” she said with a giggle.

She reveals that her favourite part of a magazine cover shoot is the dressing up. “All the different outfits I get to try out and seeing the outcome. I like to see the end product,” she enthused.

Dillish was the cover girl for Essays of Africa in which she talked about her journey and how she made it to the top. Essays of Africa is a glossy lifestyle magazine that focuses on women’s journeys to womanhood.

She later covered Glam Africa for its summer edition cover, in which she spoke about the moment she realised she had won ‘Big Brother Africa’, the first thing she bought with the prize money and addresses rumours that she has gone broke. Glam Africa is an online and print magazine with a readership of mostly women in Africa and the diaspora.

Always on her feet, Dillish admits that she is not one to stay in one place for too long and loves travelling to explore and see the world. “I don’t know, I can’t stay in one place for too long. It’s just in me, I have very itchy feet and as you know, London is my favourite city so whenever a month passes and I’m in Namibia, I book a flight and just fly off,” she said.

The globetrotting entrepreneur has recently also expanded her business profile, adding her Dillish Cool Cubes ice-cube business to her cosmetics and salon ventures.
