Education Envoy to Be Crowned

The first ever Miss Namibia Education Ambassador (NEA) beauty pageant will be crown this Saturday at Independence Arena in Katutura.

The theme for the pageant is Igniting the virtue of education. According to the organiser of the pageant, Soini Nampala, the main aim of Miss Namibia Education Ambassador is to crown universities or colleges’ students who have the ability to inspire serious studying and taking Namibian education seriously amongst youths in schools, especially those in Grade 10 and 12.

“The audiences can expect to see queens and princesses hailing from University of Unam (Unam), International University of Management (IUM), Polytechnic of Namibia, Lingua College, Triumphant College, Katutura Community College of the Arts, and Windhoek Vocational Training Centre (WVTC) as they compete against one another for the title,” says Soini.

She adds there will be a special presentation of crown awards to the winners by a delegate from the Ministry of Education. Mushe, Stanley Mareka from Equipped Dancing Academy, Shishani are among the artists performing on the night. “Whoever is going to walk away with Miss NEA title will be tasked to visit schools nationwide and talk to Grade 10 and 12 learners about the importance of taking education and studying seriously,” adds Soini.

Dillish Mathews and Clarance Eiseb are the directors of ceremony. Gate opens at seven O’clock (19h00) and tickets cost N$100 in aance, N$ 150 at the gate and N$ 200 VIP’s.
