Fifty of 272 houses being built at Okahao under mass housing program nearing completion

OKAHAO: Fifty of 272 houses being built at Okahao under the mass housing programme are nearing completion.

Omusati regional governor Sophia Shaningwa made the announcement during the official opening of the new bus and taxi terminal on Friday, saying Okahao is lucky to be part of the first towns to benefit from the government’s mass housing programme.

She told those who attended the inauguration event they need to appreciate such well-intended Government efforts.

The governor added that in the next months more contractors will be seen in the town’s Extension 3, continuing to service the area so that more serviced land can be availed to residents, as well as to the mass housing programme.

She said the town council has embarked upon a very important project called the Structure Development Plan and Expansion of town boundaries.
