Global United Visit FNB

On Saturday, 29 March the international soccer legends of the 2014 FNB Global United Climate Kick delegation visited two FNB branches in Windhoek, namely the Old Power Station as well as the Auspannplatz branch.

They were warmly received by Branch Managers Annatjie Booysen and Letecha Yeomans and their teams respectively.

Ingrid Goeieman, Manager Donations and Sponsorships at FNB Namibia said that every year thus far a FNB branch enjoyed a visit by the FNB Global United soccer legends and this year was no exception.

“Not only do we wish to create awareness around environmental issues in the districts we visit – this year in Mariental and surroundings – and the wider Namibian public through the media, but also amongst our own employees. Our CEO at the launch of this year’s initiative stressed that each and every person plays a role when it comes to using resources wisely. It concerns all of us and hence FNB also creates awareness amongst our staff to fulfil their role as champions of the environment and protectors of our scare resources.”

At the branch visits both Rainer Hahn of Global United and Ingrid Goeieman gave a short address to staff and then FNB employees could talk to the soccer players, have some shirts signed and take photos.

Meme Bertha, who has been working for FNB Namibia for more than 25 years was overwhelmed to see Namibian star footballer Collin Benjamin. She said that he was almost like her own son in her house and frequented her house when he was growing up.

Global United will play a Hardap All Stars team in Mariental on Thursday, 3 April.
