Go Green Fund Conservation Magazine Launched

NEDBANK Namibia has launched the Go Green Fund special edition conservation magazine. The launch took place at the Namibia Nature Foundation conservation week held last week.

The Go Green Fund special edition showcases some of the projects that have been supported countrywide for the past 14 years.

The increasing involvement of corporates in environmental and sustainable development programmes really highlights that Namibia is going in the right direction, in terms of sustainable environmental management.

Nedbank Namibia is one institution that has enhanced the eminence of conservation since it initiated the Go Green Fund in 2001 together with the Namibia Nature Foundation.

The Go Green Fund is celebrating only its 14th year of existence this year, but has already become the pacesetter in terms of what good corporate citizenry is all about.

Andreas Mwoombola, Nedbank executive head of transformation, said at the launch that having disbursed over N$5-million to a range of deserving projects and initiatives during this period, the bank thought it prudent to immortalise some of the ground-breaking work that these projects have been delivering in a special edition of the renowned conservation magazine.

“The challenges are still immense. Reducing the vulnerability of local communities exposed to climate change by increasing the volume and effectiveness of finance directed towards adaptation remains a key imperative for every entity that has vested business interests in our country,” he said.
