Grove Mall to Open in September

THE country’s biggest shopping mall, Grove Mall in Windhoek will open in September, Safland, the company developing the mall has said.

The Grove will offer a wide range of shops and choice of merchandise, Safland said in a project update on Wednesday. Part of the development will include an office complex, a private hospital called Lady Pohamba Hospital, residential apartments, a gym, a high performance centre and a hotel.

The other companies involved in the development are Atterbury, Demushua and Frontier Property Trust.

The mall forms part of the Hilltop Estate Development, which is 220 000 square metres in total. The total investment is projected at N$1,1 billion. Approximately 700 jobs have been created during the construction phase. It is expected that a further 1500 and 1800 permanent jobs will be created once the mall opens.

The tenants will be Game, Checkers, Edgars, Spar and Ster Kinekor. Others include Sportsman’s Warehouse, Outdoor Warehouse, Cotton On Group, Woolworths, Truworths, Foshini Group, Mr Price, Dischem, Clicks, Toys ‘R’ Us, Incredible Connection, MTC, News Cafeacute, Wimpy, and Coricraft. Other retailers include Otto Muir, Paulo’s, OTB and Boardriders.

Other tenants will be Aca Joe, Jenny Button, Hilton Weiner, Vertigo, Urban, Mango, 9West, Forever New, Guess, Aldo, Frazers, Poetry, Old Khaki, Vida E, Wakaberry’s, Smart Store, Bt Games, Scoin, Outdoor Warehouse and Cotton On Group.
