Happy Employees Make for Happy Customers – DHL Namibia

DHL Express celebrated Employee Appreciation Week across Sub-Saharan Africa from April 21 to 24, 2015.

The initiative, which was aimed at recognising and rewarding DHL employees across the continent, saw thousands of employees celebrated for their achievements, whether extraordinary or every day, showcasing the importance of employee engagement and recognition when looking to create a great place to work.

The week saw numerous activities take place such as team building games, employees receiving gifts and special food treats. The week was themed around the company’s logistics partnership with Rugby World Cup 2015. According to Kevin Phillips, Country Manager of DHL Express Namibia: “Employers sometimes do not realise that an upbeat and satisfied workforce can have a direct effect on company success and productivity.

“We find that implementing reward programmes, as well as staff development and training courses assist in keeping employees feeling challenged and rewarded by their jobs.

“In our experience, contented employees are definitely more productive and navigate their responsibilities with effort and enthusiasm.”
