Havana Man Kills Brother

A 29-YEAR-OLD man from Havana informal settlement in Windhoek was arrested last week for stabbing his brother to death for asking him why he was coming home late and drunk.

Wanaheda Police chief inspector Fabian Musweu said the suspect who is expected to appear in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in Katutura today stabbed his 30-year-old brother whom he was staying with.

Musweu identified the deceased as Abed Nehale.

Musweu said the suspect came home drunk and his brother confronted him, asking why he has been coming home late and drunk.

“He did not like the confrontation and told his brother that he was going to leave his place. The brother agreed and started to pack the suspect’s belongings so that he could leave. While his brother was busy packing, the suspect took a knife and stabbed him three times,” said Musweu.

In an attempt to save Nehale, the family rushed him to the hospital, but he died in the taxi.

One of the neighbours, who described the incident as unfortunate, told The Namibian that the suspect was unemployed and the brother had asked him to come to Windhoek to look for a job.

“He recently came from the north to look for a job because his brother had asked him to do so. He, however, did not do that,” said the neighbour.
