Hengari Appointed NWR Chief

NWR said Hengari, who has been acting managing director since February 2013, had worked towards giving the different resort managers more authority and ownership at their establishments.

“It is also during this time that NWR saw costs being cut and profitability achieved at some of its establishments. Service at the different resorts drastically improved and a number of key staff were hired to deliver on this goal,” NWR said in a statement yesterday.

A number of resorts were also revamped and re-opened, including the Popa Falls.

“I certainly know that the responsibility conferred on me by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism along with my board is one that I accept with humility and gratitude. I therefore see my tenure being one where we get NWR more profitable and deliver to our shareholder,” said Hengari. Leah Namoloh, NWR board chairperson, said they look forward to a fruitful working relationship with Hengari.
