Hitman to Return in August

Former world champion Paulus ‘Hitman’ Moses will return to action on 1 August as part of a star-studded cast in the MTC Nestor Sunshine Productions’ ‘Night Of Champions Boxing Bonanza’.

The fight, against a yet to be confirmed opponent, marks Moses’ first outing since losing the WBO International lightweight title to South Africa’s Malcom Klassen in March.

Also on the card are IBFWBA International super bantamweight titles holder Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda and former WBO Africa welterweight champion Betuel ‘Tyson’ Ushona.

National champions Japhet ‘Thin Man’ Uutoni, Julius ‘Blue Machine’ Indongo, Walter ‘Executioner’ Kautondokwa, Nathaniel ‘Sir’ Kamati, Mike ‘Silent Assassin’ Shonena, Sacky ‘Izinyoka’ Shikukutu and Jeremiah Nakathila complete the card.

Given the names on the card, the event, which will be staged at Ramatex in Windhoek, promises great entertainment value, according to promoter, Nestor Tobias.

“Fans can expect fireworks because we intend to entertain them with the best Namibian fighters against classy international opponents,” Tobias said.

“We are committed to giving our fans the best entertainment to show appreciation for the support they have given us throughout the year and this is how we know best.

“We therefore want the fans to come out in numbers and support and enjoy world class boxing. Boxing is a good form of entertainment, and that is why we put in a lot of effort when organising events,” said Tobias.

He added that the event is primarily to showcase the country’s elite professional boxers and to boost their ratings in order to attract more lucrative fights.

“Our boxers did it before and they will keep on doing it for our beloved nation,” he said. “We will not charge normal ticket prices because we want to give access to as many boxing fans as possible. General tickets will thus sell for N$50 and VIP tickets N$500 only. Tickets will be on sale at compu-ticket countrywide.”
