Impact Namibia Invites Unemployed Graduates

Impact Namibia is calling all unemployed graduates to register themselves and be part of its initiative to help them to develop corporate experience, skills and knowledge necessary to enable them to participate in economic activities.

Impact Namibia is a social enterprise that innovates for graduate empowerment and invest in the intellectual capital of unemployed graduates as a productive asset (this includes their creativity, productivity, knowledge and intelligence). According to Nafi Muhongo, a Marketing and Communications intern at Impact Namibia, the initiative intent to break the emerging cyclic pattern of “graduating to unemployment” by acting as a catalyst to attract increased attention to the problem, amplify its severity, find suitable solutions and spur economic activities that address it. “We urge all unemployed graduates to register with us. We need to know who you are, where you are and how we can assist you in accomplishing your goals and dreams,” says Muhongo.

Impact Namibia provides its graduates five targeted services such as GRAData (an online database which collects the data necessary to generate evidence to support our cause), GrADHub, (a Graduate incubation hub), GRADMonitor, (a quarterly Graduates publication), GRADInvest, (a private sector targeted programme to support graduates) and G-Capital, ( a social venture capital fund that invests in the intellectual capital of unemployed graduates). “We envisage a (GRADHub), which serves as a transitional ‘safety net’, which will bridge the gap between the tertiary and corporate arenas. Through GRADHub, we will provide mentorship, internship and networking opportunities for Unemployed Graduates’. We will foster innovation and creativity as key drivers through which we will capture the value of their Intellectual Capital and transform them into ideas that are economically viable,” Muhongo promises.

Impact Namibia’s vision is to successfully establish G-Capital, a social impact fund which serves as a resource for the future through which its activities will be sustainably funded. Registration is free and only unemployed graduates who hold a three year Diploma or a Degree will be considered.
