Joyful Sounds’ Final Six

ADORATION choir on Sunday became the last ensemble to make it to the semi-finals of the Joyful Sounds Choir competition.

They join the Big K’s, Poly Choir, Soli Deo Gloria, Okahandja Youth Choir and Christian Assemblies who are one step closer to being the Joyful Sounds champions.

Big ‘K’s, Poly Choir and Soli Deo Gloria will battle it out on 9 November at the National Theatre of Namibia while Okahandja Youth Choir and Christian Assemblies will have their voices decide their fate the following week on 16 November.

The weekend’s knock-out stage left the judges, Sharon Van Rooi, Dennis Eiseb and Bonnie Pereko astounded at the talent on offer. They emphasized that Adoration Choir’s vocal arrangements, dynamic presentation, stage presence and the passion displayed by choir members and soloists are what set them apart from their opponents.

The audience was pleasantly surprised by the opening act, spearheaded by the talented baritone-tenor Pride Mafukize on vocals, a born entertainer with a distinctive baritone-tenor voice who featured fellow vocalists Covenant and Lyne on backing vocals.

The next round of the competition takes place on Sunday, 9 November at the NTN. Tickets are available at all Computicket outlets and the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) for N$80. Doors open at 18h00 and the show starts 19h00. The finals will take place at the NTN on Friday, 21 November at 19h00. Tickets for the finals cost N$100.
