Kavango Narrowly Beats Hardap

The atmosphere at the Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb was tense as Kavango and Hardap met in what one would call a sizzling match.

The first half was a spectacle to watch as the Kavango Region brought out the fireworks from early on in the match. Winger, Frans Matjayi zigzagged across the Hardap defence with ease just to hit the cross bar twice in the half to be denied goals.

The stocky player was impressive to watch as he was at the right place at the right time to collect and distribute the balls to his team mates. His hard work earned him the player of the match prize.

Kavango kept making the perfect runs but could not find the back of the net in the first half.

At the start of the second half, Hardap came back in a positive mood hoping to make their presence felt with a clear chance but was denied that chance by Kavango’s goalkeeper, Siyemo George.

Hardap Region repeatedly tried to penetrate the defence of the boys from the Okavango but they stood their ground and send a long ball through the air that was picked up by Petrus Patrick who went to score a powerful goal that left the Hardap Region’s talkative goalkeeper, Payul Gariseb in a daze.

The goalkeeper of Kavango, Siyemo George was not tested and looked unbothered by the few shots that came his way.
