Kavango Trade Fair and agricultural show might be shifted to middle of year

RUNDU: The annual Kavango Trade Fair and Agricultural Show might in future be shifted to the middle of the year to avoid proceedings being hampered by rain.

The 13th edition of the event was held at Rundu from 04 to 09 November, with over 250 exhibitors participating, compared to 130 last year.

It was staged at the Kavango Trade Centre, a multi-million-dollar complex constructed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to host trade fairs in the region.

The promoter of the Kavango Trade Fair, Peter Immanuel told Nampa today that some entertainment events could not take place due to the rain.

Some stalls were also affected by rain.

Immanuel said the organising committee further plans to accommodate more exhibitors in future because some people sneaked into the fair venue and conducted business without having been registered to do so.

Another hiccup experienced was the erratic electricity supply at the venue – it went off at times – and this was due to too many exhibitors using electricity at their stalls.
