Kenya to Tour Namibia

Cricket Namibia on Wednesday announced that Kenya will tour Namibia next week in preparation for the World Cricket League Division 2 tournament in January 2015.

Kenya will arrive in Namibia on Sunday, 23 November for a week-long tour.

They will play two matches against Namibia and two against a Namibian A side over 50 overs before their departure on 28 November.

The Kenyan team will be coached by former batting great Steve Tikolo and includes top international players like Morris Ouma, Rakep Patel, Nelson Odhiambo and James Ngoche.

Their first match is against Namibia A at the WAP field on 24 November, while they take on Namibia at the United field the next day.

Kenya once again play Namibia A at the WAP field on 26 November, while their final match is against Namibia at the United field on 27 November.

Meanwhile Cricket Namibia announced two squads for the tour which are as follows:

Namibia:

Stephan Baard, Gerrie Snyman, Sarel Burger, Gerhard Erasmus, Raymond van Schoor, Nicolaas Scholtz, Christi Viljoen, JP Kotze, JJ Smit, Bernard Scholtz and Tiaan Snyman. Nico Davin is the 12th man.

Namibia A:

Xander Pitchers, Wessel Myburgh, JP Kotze, Craig Williams, Michau du Preez, Pikky Ya France, Zane Green, Bjorn Kotze, MP Delport, Vernon Cloete, Christopher Coombe, SJ Loftie Eaton and Malan Kruger.

All the matches start at 09h30 and entrance is free.

These matches will afford Namibia’s players the last opportunity to make the final squad of 14 players for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 2 tournament slated for 17-24 January 2015 in Windhoek.
