Ma Gaisa All Stars to Rock Club Thriller

Ma Gaisa lovers can prepare themselves for a real treat when some of the biggest names in the genre host what is themed the ‘Welcoming to December ma gaisa Bash’ at Club Thriller on Friday night, starting at 21h00.

Headlining the star-studded line up is the Ma Gaisa king himself Phura Duwe, the Crown Prince Ou Stakes Hamaseb, the multi-talented Slow, ma gaisa queen Lettie Nangolo, and new kids on the block Desiree and Ronnie !Gonteb.

“We decided to end the year with a bang for our fans. There is no way we were just going to let the year end without giving something back for their support throughout the year and nothing will please them more than a live show,” Phura explained. “People will get a treat in many ways,” added Ou Stakes. “Apart from our line-up there will be a lot of exciting prizes to be won. These prizes will however come as surprise throughout the show and, for the first time at a ma gaisa show, the fans will receive welcoming cocktails.”

Slow pointed out that the music part is well taken care of.

“We want this one show to remain in the minds of our fans for a very long time. We have some of the biggest guns in the business lined up. We all know what the likes of Phura, Ou Stakes and Lettie can do with a mic. It will be Lettie’s first performance in Windhoek after she dropped her new album,” Slow noted.

Phura, who has just released a five-track EP in praise of Swapo presidential candidate Hage Geingob, promised to be at his best as he will be dishing out some of the hits that made him the icon of the ma gaisa genre. He has been out of action for a while and the fans will definitely welcome his presence on the Club Thriller stage.

Ou Stakes needs little introduction and the Swakpomund-born singer has the potential to steal the limelight from both Phura and crowd-favourite Lettie, while Slow will be banking on his popularity with the Dolam crowd to make a good account of himself on the stage.

For both Desiree and Ronnie, this could probably be their biggest stage to show their potential to what could be a capacity crowd in order to show their readiness to take the industry by storm.

Damage is N$70 and the tickets can be bought from River Entertainment outlet in Katutura. Organisers have promised high security at the event.
