Man stabbed to death at Farm Terra Rossa

WINDHOEK; A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Namibian Police after he allegedly stabbed another man to death at Farm Terra Rossa in the Khomas Region on Saturday at about 22h12.

The Namibian Police Force’s (NamPol) spokesperson, Inspector Stephen Nuuyi told journalists at a media briefing here on Sunday afternoon the suspected killer and the deceased person, identified as Albert Nariseb, 35, were allegedly embroiled in a heated argument before the stabbing incident.

The victim was stabbed in the neck and died on the spot.

His next of kin have already been informed, and police investigations are underway.

In a separate incident, Tuhafeni Herman, 23, allegedly ended his life by hanging himself with a rope from a tree near Omuvapu Street in the Kilimandjaro location of the capital on Saturday at about 21h00.

The police at the northern town of Omuthiya in Oshikoto Region arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly raping a pensioner in the area over the weekend.

It is reported that the suspect allegedly raped the 60-year-old woman at the Iindongo ya Keelu village in the Omuthiya area on Friday last week at about 20h00.

The suspect allegedly came into the victim’s room and threatened to kill her if she screams, and proceeded to rape her.

Police investigations continue.

In the Khomas Region, the Adams Tyre and Accessories outlet lost stock worth N.dollars 21 000 when thieves allegedly broke into the premises on Saturday at about 05h00.

Items stolen from the business premises include four tyres, two sets of rims and a laptop computer.

No recovery or arrest have yet been made, and police investigations are underway in order to track down the culprits and bring them to book.

Also in the capital, items worth N.dollars 7 500 were allegedly stolen from Erf 1264 in Coetzee Street, Pionierspark residential area, between Thursday and Friday last week.

It is reported that the suspected thieves gained entry to the house by cutting the electrical fence and breaking open a door to the house.

The items stolen include an LG flat screen television and a Walker digital satellite television (DSTV) device.

No arrest or recovery have yet been made, and police investigations continue.
