Mathias to step down as Team Namibia’s CEO

WINDHOEK: Team Namibia Board Chairperson Tarah Shaanika has announced that Daisry Mathias will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Team Namibia, effective 15 July 2015.

Mathias assumed office on 17 July 2014.

Shaanika, who issued a media statement on Friday, said Mathias has been able to make exceptional progress in driving Team Namibia’s strategic focus and agenda.

Some of the key highlights include increased operational capacity, with the Team Namibia secretariat office relocation and human resourcing; significant advancements in stakeholder dialogue and engagement; and the implementation of strategic marketing campaigns and initiatives.

“The Board of Directors are sad to say goodbye to Daisry so soon in her capacity as CEO, but believe she leaves to make a greater contribution to our beautiful country and we wish her success,” he said.

Shaanika gave his assurance to stakeholders that it is business as usual at Team Namibia while it actively seek a highly competent successor to take over the reigns.

The new CEO is expected to maintain the institution’s momentum as Team Namibia pursues its purpose of mobilising Namibian consumers to buy local and drive the promotion of quality local products and services.
