Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry announces appointment of 13 new NAB members

WINDHOEK: The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, John Mutorwa announced the appointment of 13 new Namibia Agronomic Board (NAB) Board members in Windhoek today.

The Board members will serve a three-year term ending in 2017.

Kobus van Graan has been reappointed as the Board’s chairperson, while Sirka Iileka was reappointed as vice-chairperson.

Also forming part of the Board are Nalusha Handunge, Tarcisius Shindungu, Andre Compion, Loide Homateni, Edward Mataba, Elizabeth Hilger, Karel Likuwa, Veripi Kandenge, Ian Collard, Mary Shikukutu and Kaarina Amutenya.

Mutorwa noted that the Board will be responsible for promoting the agronomic industry and to facilitate the production, processing, storage and marketing of controlled products in Namibia.

The Board is also expected to steer the activities of the NAB in the right direction, to enhance and successfully realise its socio-political-economic developmental agenda, he added.
