Ministry of Finance’s deputy director dies after his vehicle overturned between Otavi and Etosha National Park

OTJIWARONGO: The Ministry of Finance’s deputy director for the north-central regions, Saltiel Neshuku died instantly yesterday after his vehicle overturned on the gravel road between Otavi and the Etosha National Park.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview today he had been travelling from Otavi to a farm near the Etosha National Park when the accident occurred.

Approximately 48 kilometres north-west of Otavi, the 45-year-old Neshuku lost control over his Toyota double cab and it rolled several times.

Mbeha said he died on the spot, and three more passengers who were with him in the vehicle sustained slight to serious injuries, adding that the injured passengers are now receiving medical treatment at the Otjiwarongo State Hospital.

They are aged five, 37, and 54 years respectively.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
