Miss DHP Slated for Mid-December

The annual Miss Downtown Hallmark Projects (DHP) 2014 Beauty Pageant will take place on December 19 in the Oluno Community Hall in Ondangwa, Oshana region.

Peya Mushelenga, one of the organisers of the event, says it will kick-off with a DHP fun day on December 18, to be hosted at the Ames Investments’ swimming pool in Ondangwa, with the aim of bringing contestants closer to their fun and for them to mingle with people before the big day. This year, Miss DHP will be hosted under the theme Elevated, matured and packed.

Peya says the theme has been chosen based on the results from previous events. “We have experienced a steep increase in support from the community and sponsors, hence giving this theme to our 2014 event,” he says. He adds that, the main aim of Miss DHP remains the same, to create a platform for models to showcase their talents and increasing their chances of being spotted by various modelling agencies who will take them to greater heights.

“The driving force behind this event year after year is that it brings the community together it encourages other event organisers out there to keep doing what they do for the love of entertainment. We believe that the event will be fully packed due to popular demand from young people. We also opted to increase the number of contestants from 10 to 12, which is also likely to increase to 15 depending on the final decision when the committee sits end of November,” says Peya.

This event is brought by event management and corporation company, DHP Trading Enterprises cc in conjunction with the Facebook Lounge. Miss DHP was initiated in 2011. This will be the fourth consecutive time that Miss DHP is hosted.
