MMCT donates food, clothes and blankets to children of Omusati Pre-Primary School

WINDHOEK: The Michelle McLean Children’s Trust (MMCT) on Monday donated food, clothes and blankets to children of the Omusati Pre-Primary School in Windhoek’s Otjomuise area.

The donation also included mattresses and toys.

Speaking during the donation, Frits Zender, the project manager of the MMCT’s Operation Snowball, said the project is one of the longest-running MMTC projects since its inception in 1996.

This year marks the 18th anniversary of the project, and also the 22nd anniversary of the MMCT.

The project is entirely depended on contributions from individuals and businesses in the private sector.

Zender said last year, more than 50 groups and individuals in seven regions received blankets, dry and tinned food, and winter clothing.

He said their target this year is to collect 4 000 blankets, and to reach all 14 regions in Namibia.
