MTC Bursaries for Students and Employees

MTC awarded bursaries to four young students as well as 15 employees with the combined value of N$700,000. Since 2002 the MTC scholarship programme has continued to produce world class graduates and this attributed to the fact that there is integrated learning throughout the students’ academic programme. Dr. Gert Guumlnzel, Vice Rector Administration and Finance of the Polytechnic of Namibia thanked MTC for awarding these bursaries and empashised that the government, companies and tertiary institutions should work together to make sure that deserving student that can not afford to further their education, be assisted.

Dirk Eigub, MTC’s NMTQ Administrator who is a previous bursary holder aised the recipients to get out of their comfort zones and that there is no limit to getting better. Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s Chief Human Capital amp Corporate Affairs Officer aised the bursary receipts not to become arrogant and forget where they come from when they start making money after completing their studies. He encouraged them to stay humble and make a difference in the community. To date all the students that have completed the programme have received full-time employment contracts with MTC, ensuring that home grown talents assist in the procurement of skills to enable the people to contribute to the success of Namibia.
