NA approves 2014-15 Appropriation Bill without any amendments

WINDHOEK: The National Assembly (NA) yesterday approved the 2014/15 Appropriation Bill without any amendments.

The total national expenditure budget for the 2014/15 financial year amounting to N.dollars 60,28 billion was tabled in the National Assembly by Finance Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila on 19 February 2014.

Cabinet ministers then introduced and motivated their respective ministries’ budget allocations as from 12 March to 03 April.

Speaking in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila applauded Members of Parliament (MPs) for discussing and approving all 31 budget votes on time in order to allow for the implementation of programmes and policies in different ministries and agencies.

She also encouraged MPs to continue studying and analysing the accountability report, and to follow-up on program implementations for the benefit of all Namibians.

The minister stated that at the debt level of 47 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), Namibia is highly sustainable.
