Namibia senior football team hopeful ahead of Mauritius match

RUSTENBURG: The Namibia senior national football team is ready to collect the much needed three points in their game against Mauritius at the Council of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) cup today.

The games that kicked off on Sunday are being played in the North-West Province of South Africa.

Namibia drew 0-0 in its opening game of the tournament against Seychelles at the Moruleng Stadium Sunday.

Speaking to Nampa yesterday, striker Benson Shilongo, who joined the team from Gaborone United in Botswana on Sunday, said he received a warm welcome and is hoping to bring his club form to the national team.

National team captain, Ronald Ketjijere said the team is currently aware of what is at stake and they are ready to battle come tonight.

He said their main concern against Mauritius is to get the balls into the net.

The game against Mauritius at Moruleng Stadium will be played 18h30, Namibian time (GMT+1).
