Namibia to Host Miss Curvy Africa

After Zimbabwe successfully hosted the inaugural Miss Curvy Africa beauty pageant, organisers of the event has moved the second edition to Windhoek, Namibia.

Mercy “Catwalk” Mushaninga, the brains behind the pageant confirmed to Time Out the new developments via Face book and WhatsApp interviews recently. “Namibia will host this year’s second edition of Miss Curvy Africa slated for November 28 in the capital city of Windhoek,” Mushaninga says.

Mushaninga adds that preparations for the continental pageant are underway with everything going according to plans and is happy about the growth of the pageant. “We are going from one level to another in terms of organising this event with 26 contestants across the continent contesting for the coveted title. The models will troop into the boot camp on November 22 ahead of the grand finale,” she anticipates.

“Participating countries include Nigeria who is going to send two queens, South Africa four, Botswana two, Mozambique, Cameron, Zambia and Kenya are sending a model each with the host nation having four representatives.” Mushaninga adds that Zimbabwe will be represented by five models among them 19-year-old Shella Chikengezha from Harare who is the reigning Miss Curvy Zimbabwe 2014, second princess Chengetayi Mnisi and first princess Chantelle Jeradi.

The pageant which celebrates and recognizes curvaceous Africa women will be held under the theme “Models against Hunger in Africa”. Mushininga says fans should look forward to a bigger and better show in Namibia.
