NDF Women Still Unbeaten

The Namibia Defence Force women’s volleyball team remain unbeaten after the fourth weekend of the 2014 Bank Windhoek National Volleyball League, after beating the Katutura-based team, Revivals VC 3-1 on Saturday.

The ladies in uniform started to the attack to comfortably win the first set 25-6. Revivals provided ger opposition in the second set which they narrowly lost 25-21, but the Katutura-based team then went on to win the third set 27-25 in a 28 minute-long set.

The NDF however finished ger, winning the fourth set 25-21 to win the match 3-1 and maintain their unbeaten status this year.

In other matches, Khomas Nampol destroyed the student team of Unam 3-0, while Revivals also beat Unam 3-0.

The complete results in the women’s league are as follows:

KNVC vs. UNAM 3-0(25-4, 25-12, 25-21)

NDF vs. RVC 3-1 (25-06, 25-21, 25-27, 25-21)

KNVC vs. NDF 1-3 (25-19, 23-25, 17-25, 20-25)

RVC vs. UNAM 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-20).

In the Men’s League, Khomas Nampol (KNVC) dominated the day by winning both their games against Navy from Walvis Bay and Eleven Warriors (EWVC) from Grootfontein.

The Navy team suffered a double blow as neither of their games concluded in their favour.

They got off to a good start against Eleven Warriors, winning the first two sets, but then went on to lose the match 3-2.

Navy showed potential against KNVC by winning the first set 27-25, but luck was not on their side, as KNVC managed to come back with fearless spikes from Rehabeam Hengari and Messah Kambali and win the match 3-1.
