Ndokosho Shows Who’s King – Humbles Metually

The ‘Cold Storm Boxing Bonanza’ hosted by Kinda Nangolo Promotions at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday night, provided first-rate boxing action to fans, who spent most of the evening at the edge of their seats.

Topping the bill was Gottlieb ‘The King’ Ndokosho and Egyptian Mohammed Metually’s International Boxing Federation (IBF) Featherweight title bout, which saw Ndokosho waltz easily past ‘Pharoahs Offspring’ Metually via a 4th round technical knockout to successfully defend his title. The hall was again set alight by Anthony Jarman and Swakopmund-based Jason Mushalo, as the two pugilists went toe-to-toe with a flurry of blows that saw hard-punching Jarman dismantle the relatively inexperienced Mushalo via a 4th technical knockout to win their Welterweight non-title bout.

In another action-packed Welterweight bout, Pohamba ‘The President’ Mandume and veteran boxer Johannes ‘Tito’ Mwetupunga’s fight ended in a draw. Promoter Kinda Nangolo was highly impressed with Ndokosho’s showing, saying the ‘The King’ is certainly destined for greater things and will work extra hard to make sure Ndokosho fights quality and world-rated opponents. “Ndokosho is currently ranked No 9 by the IBF and our aim is to keep on improving his ranking and hopefully go for the world title in the near future. With this kind of performance, I can proudly say bigger and better things are in store for Namibian boxing,” said Nangolo.
