ngolan man dies on vessel anchored at Walvis Bay harbor

WALVIS BAY: A 40-year-old Angolan man died on a vessel anchored at the Walvis Bay harbour on Tuesday morning.

It is suspected that the deceased suffered an epileptic attack, and died on the spot.

Sources who were on the vessel at the time told Nampa yesterday that the deceased, whose name cannot be revealed yet, allegedly just collapsed whilst busy cleaning the vessel at around 09h00.

Confirming the incident, Regional Crime Investigations’ Coordinator of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa said the man was working on the Olivier Tide vessel.

Olivier Tide operates under the Vanuatu flag. Vanuatu is an island located in the South Pacific Ocean, east of northern Australia.

Kashuupulwa said a post-mortem on the deceased’s body has not been done yet.
