NPL Rounds 10, 11 Postponed

The Namibia Premier League has postponed Rounds 10 and 11 which were supposed to take place this weekend due to the upcoming National Assembly and Presidential Elections.

According to a press release issued by the NPL, Rounds 10 and 11 have been postponed indefinitely, although the fixtures for Rounds 12 and 13 remain unchanged and will take place from 3 to 7 December.

“The postponement of Rounds 10 and 11 was necessitated by the fact that most match officials of the Namibia Football Association hail from the northern regions, and officials felt obliged to travel to the north to participate and exercise their democratic right to vote in the 2014 National and Presidential Elections,” the press release stated.

The NPL called on all Premier League clubs, players, coaches, supporters, administrators and the community at large to actively participate in the elections.

“It is the right thing to do to exercise your fundamental democratic right to vote and participate actively in the prosperity drive of our beautiful country,” the statement read.
